Update: wanted Blount County couple arrested in Florida

Update - 1:00 pm October 7, 2014

(WBIR - Blount County) A Blount County couple who was wanted for an indoor marijuana grow operation has been arrested in Florida.

Authorities in Sarasota, Florida arrested Hershel Bedsole, 35, and Karen Bedsole, 35, Monday, October 6. They are awaiting extradition back to Tennessee.

The Casual Pint expands to Maryville

The Casual Pint chain of craft beer stores is expanding to more cities in East Tennessee.

The store opened its Maryville location Friday, and had a celebration with live music.

There are several locations across East Tennessee, but the company's president says the Maryville location has something to set it apart from the rest.

Blount County hosts charity comedy roast

Tuesday, community leaders gathered in Maryville for a few laughs and a good cause.

Leaders including Senator Doug Overbey gathered in Maryville to roast Joy Bishop. Bishop helped raise $14 million to build the Blount County Library in 2002, among several other accomplishments.

The roast raised money for the Community Food Connection in Blount County. Bishop says it's an important charity to be a part of.

Police: Drunk driver runs stop sign, hits postal carrier

A U.S. postal carrier was injured when police say a drunk driver ran a stop sign and slammed into her car.

According to Maryville Police, Nancy Dyer, 63, of Maryville was driving on Howard Jones Road at 10:43 Thursday morning when she the accident happened. After running the stop sign, Dyer's car hit the postal carrier's car driven by Patricia Shaw of Maryville.

Townsend woman admits to stealing $60K from church

An East Tennessee woman admits she stole $60-thousand dollars from a Townsend church.

According to court documents, Carol Miller pleaded guilty Monday to taking the money from Tuckaleechee United Methodist Church.

She's accused of stealing the funds between January 2007 and November of 2013.

Miller's sentencing is set for October 20th.

Michigan fugitive arrested after foot chase in Alcoa

A man wanted in Michigan for several violent crimes was arrested in Blount County on Thursday.

Ismail Shaka Hall, 22, of Southfield, Michigan, was wanted on multiple warrants, including charges for selling drugs inside a school zone and domestic violence. He is also wanted in connection with a non-fatal shooting in Southfield, Michigan in June.

On Wednesday, the Oakland County Sheriff's Office in Michigan notified Alcoa Police that Hall and another person could be staying at a motel on Alcoa Highway.

Missing Blount Co. teen found

Update 9:15 am:

A spokesperson with the Blount County Sheriff's Office confirmed that Darion Breeden, 18, has been found and is fine.

Previous Story:

The Blount County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help to locate a missing teen who has a mental disability.

Darion Breeden, 18, was last seen at his sister's home on Hutton Ridge Road last Friday around 2 pm.
