KidCare ID program celebrates 20 years

(WBIR) An East Tennessee restaurant hit a big milestone this weekend when it comes to helping parents be ready in case they're faced with tough scenarios.

Sinkhole opens directly behind a Maryville home

(WBIR - Maryville) Bobbie Treece has lived with her daughter Teresa in their Kidd Avenue home since 1992. The family has had some great times, but lately it's been one big headache for them.

Cracks can be found inside the family's home on the ceiling and on the door frames. Kitchen cabinets are not level and neither is the floor.

The Treece Family is blaming all of the problems on a sinkhole that's opened directly behind the house.

Maryville prescription pill mill owner sentenced to 39 years

A judge sentenced a 63-year-old Maryville woman to 39 years in prison for her role in a prescription pill mill.

Authorities said Sandra Kincaid wrote prescriptions without a license and allowed customers to shoot up and sell drugs in their parking lot.

Walland man charged after stabbing sends 1 to hospital

Walland police arrested and charged a suspect in a stabbing that sent one person to the hospital.

Mark Allen Raby, 58, is accused of stabbing Richard Lynn Newsom, 56, in the abdomen during an argument in a home on Loretta Drive Monday night.

Crews took Newsom to the University of Tennessee Medical Center where he's listed as stable.

Officials are holding Raby on $25,000 bond at the Blount County Detention Facility.

4 injured in roof collapse

One person was seriously injured when a roof he was working on collapsed.

The accident happened at approximately 4:15 pm Thursday at a home under construction on Griffitts Mill Circle in south Blount County.

Investigators said four workers were on the roof when it started collapsing. Three of them jumped off. One, Jose Diaz, 27, suffered a broken ankle and was taken to a local hospital. The other two received minor injuries but refused being taken to the hospital.
