"Sisters on the Fly" land in town
"Sisters on the Fly" land in town

You may have seen them on their way to Townsend, a caravan of vintage campers.

What you might not have realized is that there are a band of sisters driving these pieces of art.

Members of the Sisters on the Fly are the first to tell you that their mantra is "we have more fun than anyone."

I'm pretty sure this is the truth. We caught up with some of the ladies at Camp Townsend.

They had set up and some had gone off to see the sights of east Tennessee while the other were waiting for the media.. OK Photographer JJ and myself.

We were lucky enough to get to check out some of the campers. Not a lot of room inside, but some of them have been through amazing transformations.

A lot like some of their owners. These women have all come together thanks to some women who about 13 years ago wanted women to learn fly fishing and their love of it.

Well, that started the sister's but the group has become so much more than some ladies fishing. The group gives a certain independence to the women.

An independence they take very seriously as they meet new sisters around the country and the world. There are actually sisters in Canada, England and Australia.

If you see the ladies driving through your town give them a little nod and smile because every one of those trailers, just like it's owner, has character.
