Dogs found abandoned in mobile home
News

Blount County authorities are looking for a couple who may have abandoned their dogs in a mobile home.

Neighbors on Adkins Way in Louisville reported the dogs to the sheriff's department, who informed the Society of Prevention and Cruelty for Animals (SPCA).

When SPCA authorities arrived, the found the male dogs, one about a year old, the other a 5-month-old puppy. The dogs had chewed the dry wall and couch. There was trash, urine, and feces throughout. One of the dogs had busted out a window and cut its foot and there was also blood everywhere.

They did find evidence that someone may have been feeding the dogs. A bag of food was found behind a closed door and there was water in the toilet.

The dogs appeared to be in fairly good health and have been taken to the Blount County Animal Shelter, where they will remain until the investigation is complete. If the owners are located and give up the animals, they will be put up for adoption.

The dogs' owners could be charged with aggravated animal cruelty for leaving the animals confined in the mobile home for a long period of time.
