Identities released in fatal Alcoa Highway crash

Jason Warf, 33, of Maryville died Thursday at the University of Tennessee Medical Center from his injuries.

The accident on Jan. 8 on Topside Road killed Warf's passenger, 45-year-old Julie Spurlock, instantly.

Alcoa police said Jason Warf turned in front of a Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 27-year-old Justin Herron of Seymour, which caused the crash. The impact caused Warf's Chevrolet Impala to hit a third car stopped on Topside Road at Alcoa Highway.

The accident also hurt Herron, and crews took him to UT Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries. The driver of the third car wasn't hurt.

Officials said they're still investigating factors that led to the crash. Authorities will release more information as it becomes available.
