(WBIR) Two Blount County men are facing charges after authorities said they stole items from a dead Knoxville man's truck and didn't report finding his body.

Investigators found a truck belonging to Bradley White, 31, in foliage off Old Knoxville Highway Tuesday night. Inside the truck they found White's body. He had been reported missing on Saturday.

According to authorities sometime after White crashed his vehicle, David Mahan and Richard Magness came along and stole tools out of the truck. But, they didn't report finding the vehicle or White's body.

Blount County deputies received a tip Thursday that someone was trying to sell stolen tools from White's truck.

The Blount County Sheriff's Office and Alcoa Police announced the arrests Friday night of Mahan and Magness. Detectives also recovered the stolen tools.

Each are charged with tampering with evidence, burglary of a vehicle, theft greater than $500, failure to report the discovery of a dead body.

Magness is being held in the Blount County Detention Facility. After Mahan's arrest, he was taken to Blount Memorial Hospital to be evaluated in the emergency room.
