News

(WBIR-ALCOA)  Alcoa Highway reopened late Monday after following a lengthy closure due to a crash involving several vehicles that knocked down a power pole.

Dispatchers said a commercial truck and two other vehicles were involved in the crash that happened around 1 pm near the airport. The road was shut down in both directions between Wrights Ferry Road and Pellissippi Parkway.

Southbound traffic was being rerouted onto Air Base Road, Northbound traffic was being moved onto the frontage road.

Power was out at several businesses in the area. Alcoa Electric got the power back on a little before 5 p.m.
